Season 2 will be split in three acts with the first one premiering on November 9.
A brand-new teaser for Arcane Season 2, the highly anticipated League of Legends animated series follow-up, dropped on Friday, September 20. Finally, the release dates for the critically acclaimed Netflix show's three-part premiere have been revealed.
Much like Season 1, the new season will be divided into three acts. Act I arrives on November 9, Act II on November 16, and the final Act III on November 23. Let's break down that teaser.
Vi is in her rebellious phase
In the teaser, we get a glimpse of Vi in what seems to be her rebellious phase - building on hints we've been given from the previous Season 2 trailer. The video kicks off with Gustove the Scowler entering the pit, hyping up the crowd. As the bell rings and the cheers erupt, one punch sends Gustove’s metal jaw flying.
This seems to strengthen fan theories that he will eventually become Urgot, but there still are many doubts since that transformation’s got a long way to go. But we digress.
Enter Vi, with dark hair, black-and-white paint streaking her face (similar to corpse paint in real life), and just some bandages as her top (We totally get it if this becomes Vi's new skin in League of Legends).
From here, the teaser takes us through a whirlwind of shots: money being thrown into the air, Vi at the bar she frequents, painting her face, taking down enemies in the pit, and training.
And if you look closely, amidst the crowd placing bets on Vi, the final person to raise a red ticket appears to be none other than Jinx.
Caitlyn is in Vi’s hallucinations
Next, things take a strange turn as Vi starts hallucinating in the bar, catching glimpses of… Caitlyn and Piltover? This seems to strike a nerve, as she throws a punch at an unsuspecting man, leading the bouncer to send her home.
But that’s not all – we also see flashes of a hooded Jinx in the bar and lurking in the crowd at the fighting pit.
Vi, likely drunk from the previous night, stumbles back into the pit only to get quickly overpowered by multiple opponents, with Jinx, now hooded, watching the whole scene from the shadows. Vi ends up knocked out cold on her makeshift cardboard bed.
More Questions Than Answers
The teaser wraps up with a shorter version of the original Season 2 trailer before dropping the long-awaited release dates. But the revelations here seem to spark even more questions than answers – like what’s really going on with Vi and what made her hate Caitlyn?
With fan theories undoubtedly bubbling up, the countdown to the 9th of November is on. Are you ready for Arcane Season 2?
