How’d you like a free Nick Fury card signed by the MCU's Nick Fury himself?
In the latest of holiday-themed gaming events to hit players this month, Marvel Snap has announced the debut of Winterverse - a limited-time event that runs from now until January 2, 2023. As far as events like these go, it’s a pretty simple one to wrap your head around: log in every day, and you’ll get loads of free stuff.
The big ticket item in this advent calendar-like event is a special Nick Fury variant card that becomes available to claim on December 25, signed by Samuel L. Jackson himself. In case you’re not familiar, Jackson plays Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is poised to return as the character in 2023’s Disney+ series Secret Invasion.
The Nick Fury variant is an especially nice reward to anyone who hasn’t managed to pick up a Fury card yet, due to the game’s randomised way of giving out new cards to players. Nick Fury is a 7-power card that adds three random 6-cost cards to the player’s hand, so it could be a real game-winner if luck is on your side. The ability is also an obvious reference to Fury assembling the Avengers for the very first time in the MCU, before he started getting involved with Skrull shenanigans up in space.
Winterverse gives players a special reward for every day they log into the game up to January 2, 2023, but you’ll have to remember to claim those rewards from your inbox. The rest of the rewards are generous, but not quite as exciting as the Nick Fury variant - namely consisting of credits and gold. Credits can be used to upgrade your cards, and gold can be used to buy new variants in the shop.
Marvel Snap is also giving out some really nice Winterverse Variant cards during this event, with special holiday-themed art. Unfortunately, this will only affect players with a Collection Level of 1006 and upwards, seeing as these cards are locked within Collector’s Reserves. The Winterverse Variants introduced for this event are:

- Winterverse Ebony Maw
- Winterverse Patriot
- Winterverse Rockslide
- Winterverse Rogue
