Competo’s Dota team seems to have more synergy now, two months after a rooster change which saw the addition of Alexander 'Kog' Schütt and Samuel 'SaM' Braumandl. Great performance for the team, which managed to finish 6th for the Pick League season, going through the ESL Major Series Groupstage unbeaten and defending their King of the Hill title three times in a row now. The only setback however is not being invited to attend ESWC. An interview with 'SaM', one of the recently added player, addressed the achievements of the team lately. More information on topics namely HoN and Kuroky at OK can be followed on Competo site.
You finished this Pick League season on the 6th rank. Are you satisfied with this outcome?
-Well, I joined the team, when the 6th PL season started and actually I'm very satisfied about the outcome. At the beginning of that season, we didn't feel too confident about what we can bring on the court :), we scrimped a lot and couldn't face any known teams, but after some clanwars, when I officially joined the team, we really had a great Team spirit and our tactics payed off. So yes, it was a great season for us.
What was the team’s best game in this season?
You were able to win the Fragster King of the Hill three times in a row now. This means that you already won 600 Euros at this cup. What are you going to do with all the money?
-Yes oh well, I didn't think about that yet, since the police is charging our manager, who stole the money :D <3 JP. That was a joke of course.
Do you think there is a team in Germany, which could steal you the King of the Hill crown?
-Yes of course! That could happen, but I think, at the moment, we're definitely the strongest team in Germany. This doesn't mean that we underestimate teams like eyes on you or someone else. But I can't see a reason to be afraid of them. So, I don't think our crown will be stolen, if we can practice a bit more in the next weeks.
What do you think about tournaments like the Razer Global Challenge with more than 1000 participants? Do you think such tournaments are interesting for good teams? I mean, they have to play against many low-skilled teams first.
- I think that such big tournaments are interesting since it's about playing against the world's best teams. It's also important to have such tournaments for DotA to become more known in the gaming-world. Of course, you have to face bad teams first, but that means a lot of practice and many serious games. I'm looking forward to play this tournament.
Okay, thank you very much. Something you would like to add?
-Shoutouts to my team and all the guys supporting COMPETO (#competo.dota)!
