December will bring us the M5 World Championship, but this year adds some spice with the Wildcard event giving more teams a chance to reach the main stage.
In December of 2023, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams from around the globe will descend on the Philippines as they go in search of glory at the M5 World Championship. With the home ground advantage, PH will be looking to continue their domination on the international stage, taking on some of the absolute best teams in the world. However, this year will also add a new aspect to the M-series event, with a Wildcard tournament.
The Wildcard tournament for M5 will give eight teams from varying regions a chance to reach the main event in a separate tournament held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia prior to the start of M5. So far, the regions for this event will be CIS, Malaysia, Latin America, India, Laos, Mongolia, and MENA – with the final region not yet announced – until today.
A few months back, rumours were flying around about China finally entering MLBB, and after they were confirmed, the region became a shoe-in to become the final challenger. Confirmed today, Moonton announced that China would be the final region to enter into the M5 Wildcard tournament, as they look to take on the world in the Land of Dawn.
Only the top 2 teams from the Wildcard will make it through to the main M5 event, which means there is still a lot on the line. The event should take place sometime in the prior month, but no dates have officially been confirmed or announced. We will have more information on the M5 World Championship and the Wildcard as it becomes available in the upcoming weeks.
