Team Flash SG interview

Team Flash: "I’m sick of seeing Fredrinn in the meta."

Having dominated the MPL SG Season 6 event so far, Team Flash is looking to take themselves all the way to the M5 World Championship.

Team Flash is currently undefeated in a full series in the Mobile Legends Professional League’s Sixth Season in Singapore. We managed to catch up with Bellamy “Lolsie” Yeov, currently on loan from RSG SG and playing fantastically for the team. With a revamped lineup which includes Jaymark Aaron “Hadess” Thomas Lazaro, we got some insight into the team’s season, the meta, and how they hope things will go.

Coming into MPL SG Season 6, how do the team feel about their chances of finally reaching the M5 World Championship?

We definitely feel good, especially after the victory over RSG SG in Week 1. Although it wasn't a one-sided affair, we held strong and proved that mentally, we are a very strong team.

How did it feel to finally manage to take down RSG SG and what do you feel the difference was this season compared to last?

It feels good to bring down the 3-time champs! I feel that the biggest difference this year is the addition of a new coach; it takes time to develop the team and Doly was with the team for a year.

After that victory, who is your next biggest challenge in MPL SG and why?

I am looking forward to facing Bleed Esports next as I think they are the only team that can play the assassin playstyle like us, so I'd like to see how that turns out.

Philippines imports are quickly becoming a big aspect in many regions, with a few teams in SG now joining in. How has Hadess fit into the squad?

Hadess is doing well. Although we are not a full-time team, we try our very best to spend time with him and ensure he’s fed well with his favourite rice.

How influential are the picks and bans in regions such as PH, ID, and MY in SG’s MPL?

I honestly think the pick and bans of other regions do not influence us as our gameplay is different from theirs and no team is willing to risk using assassins except for us.

The Emblem system was recently reworked completely. How do you feel about the overhaul?

The overhaul only affects the other roles besides the roam. I think it’s a good balance because it makes the game more exciting.

Do you feel that SG has fallen away from being one of the strongest regions in MLBB as the game opens up to more regions across the globe?

I don’t think Singapore has fallen away. I think our region has the potential to do well in esports. I believe that we have the brains; it’s just the lack of time to practice.

Which region do you feel is the strongest right now?

Philippines for sure.

If you could pick one team to go up against, who would it be?

ONIC ID for sure. They are the most diverse and adaptable team out there and I believe we can learn a lot from them.

Are there any heroes which you would like to see buffed or become part of the current meta?

As a Tigreal main, I hope to one day see the hero appear in the scene.

Following that, are there any heroes which you are tired of seeing in the meta?

I’m sick of seeing Fredrinn in the meta.

Team Flash returns to action in MPL SG Season 6 on Saturday, September 23 when they take on Vanguard Esports before a massive series against HomeBois SG on Sunday, September 24. As the team go in search of an MPL title victory together, we wish them the best of luck and thank Lolsie for taking the time to chat with us before a busy Week 3 begins.
