We're in the final stretch of the LCK 2021 Spring season with just two rounds left to play. As of right now, the top half of the table are already guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. The only downside is that it's still all to play for as only DWG.KIA have officially booked their place in the semifinals.
This is due to the numerous upsets that we saw over the weekend, starting with Liiv SANDBOX (LSB) taking a shock 2-0 victory against KT Rolster (KT). This was followed up by another surprising victory for Nongshim RedForce (NS), who took the series 2-1 against DRX.
T1 is another mid-table team that managed to take down second-place Gen.G, thus ruining the latter's chances of sealing its automatic qualifcation to the semifinals. This is how the standings currently look like:
As it stands, Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports (HLE), DRX, and T1 all have a chance in securing the second semifinal spot. But that isn't the only exciting draw of the season. KT, NS, Fredit BRION (BRO), Afreeca Freecs (AF), and LSB all have a chance in taking in.
Here is what the schedule will look like for the coming games:
Thursday
- Gen.G vs DWG.KIA (4.00 pm)
- Hanwha Life Esports vs KT Rolster (7.00 pm)
Friday
- Afreeca Freecs vs Nongshim RedForce (4.00 pm)
- T1 vs DRX (7.00 pm)
Saturday
- Liiv SANDBOX vs Fredit BRION (4.00 pm)
- KT Rolster vs Gen.G (7.00 pm)
Sunday
- DRX vs DWG.KIA (4.00 pm)
- T1 vs Afreeca Freecs (7.00 pm)
T1, KT, and DRX will be playing two games, giving them a greater chance in getting that second place. AF will also be playing two games, giving them a fighting chance in potentially climbing the leaderboard as well.
Be sure to check back as we will be updating on the LCK 2021 Spring season as it goes along.
