Misfits and Two Bees Determined qualify for EU HGC 2017

Misfits dominated the bracket and surprised no-one by qualifying. Two Bees Determined have their day in the sun, proving that consistent rosters and hard work pay off.

The first EU qualifier has concluded. The hero picks were unique, the meta has evolved, and EU teams have revealed their take on the strongest heroes and strategies.

Malfurion was involved in nearly every draft while previously niche heroes like Zarya, Tracer, and Dehaka proved very effective. Thrall was also a powerful force during the qualifiers thanks to the recent buffs to his almost always ignored Heroic, Earthquake. Now, Earthquake seems to be the go to Heroic choice, as it allows Thrall to place extra aggressively, using the ability both defensively and offensively.

Misfits tearing through the bracket should come as no surprise, but to say it was easy is likely too much of an understatement. Misfits still have plenty to prove when faced against the likes of Fnatic and Dignitas, but their top 3 spot in the EU power rankings has been secured with this dominating performance.

The biggest winner of the day has got to be Two Bees Determined.

GranPkt says it best-- Adrd has proven himself to be a serious Heroes of the Storm competitor, utilizing all of his previous professional experience to, once again, find himself on a skilled Heroes team capable of professional play.

Old time Heroes fans may remember Adrd's playmaking abilities with Team Dignitas and the Sandwich Monkeys, but the world will soon start recognizing him for his ability to lead a team.

Blumbi of Misfits has nothing but respect for what Two Bees Determined accomplished:

With the first qualifier over, Two Bees Determined are a shining example of what a group of players can do when they truly put in the work. An unsponsored team with an endearingly silly logo (and team name), Two Bees Determined now has every opportunity to make their esports dreams come true.

Some would say, they already have.

The North American Qualifiers are starting tomorrow. Whereas EU teams swept through the bracket with multiple 3-0 victories, I have a feeling NA will be a bit scrappier.
