The datamining team at HeroesNexus put together a comprehensive list of what we can expect in upcoming patch. Notable changes are nerfs to promote, Sylvanas Possession rework, and more.
EDIT: The official patch notes has been released by blizzard. Check them out here.
Along with The Butcher, being released with the next patch, we should also expect a huge number of balance changes. Evidence of some of the particulars were released today by HeroesNexus by diving into the PTR to gather information. Some of the most important changes are nerfs to Blood for Blood, Promote (and all abilities that resemble it) and Envenom. We reported months ago about the internal debate among Blizzard developers regarding universal talents, and now, it's clear which side won that debate.
Sylvanas has also finally gotten a second heroic. Although damage on her wailing arrow was nerfed, the much talked about possession rework has finally be implemented:
- Uses a Charge mechanic now - 7 charges, 12 sec cooldown on each.
- Costs 5 charges to convert a Catapult Minion.
- Now gives possessed minion just 20% attack damage (previously also gave 20% bonus health).
This new take on the heroic will give Sy?vanas access to more split push strategies. The most powerful use that comes to mind is completely reversing an entirely lane the moment an important map objective shows up. I expect to see Possession used to moderate affect on maps like Sky Temple and Cursed Hallow, but only time will tell if anything is better than her ranged AoE silence.
Some other big changes are the buffs given to Rehgar, Brightwing, and Malfurion. All three supports have received major talent overhauls, and it's safe to say any established talent builds are no longer viable. Similar to what happened to Uther some patches ago, dedicated support players will have some homework to do.
Check out the list your self, as there are many changes not listed here, including a brutal nerf to Illidan's Metamorphosis.
