Forget about Dragons and Old Gods. There’s a new way to play Warrior and it’s going to the World Championship!
Ever after the changes to [card]charge[/card] and the death of the Worgen OTK, Warrior has remained possibly the most diverse class in Hearthstone at the moment. Although primarily dominated by Control decks with either C’Thun, N’Zoth or Yogg-Saron, Warriors have found ways to go on the offensive, too, with Dragon and Pirate builds ready to gun down slower decks.
Blizzcon finalist Edwin “HotMEOWTH” Cook, however, is going in a completely different direction. A part of his line-up for the World Championship is an unusual modification to the old [card]grim patron[/card] deck. His iteration features not only everyone’s pile-on dwarves, but also the very powerful [card]arcane giant[/card] and, notably, the [card]blood warriors[/card] card.
The deck’s goal is to clear the board and cycle all the way through the mid-game, taking the [card]wild pyromacer[/card] / [card]commanding shout[/card] combo common for Cycle C’Thun builds and the post-nerf Patron Warriors, flood the board with [card]grim patron[/card]s and/or free/cheap Arcane Giants and then copy them with Blood Warriors for double the value. It’s a build designed to prey on the control decks, as it will often generate more threats than there will be answers but as with every combo deck, it’s prone to aggressive decks.
