Another Cyberpunk 2077 update is on its way, surprisingly enough.
Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED is officially releasing another update for Cyberpunk 2077. More than a year after announcing the end of development on its sci-fi open-world RPG, the developer recently confirmed that Patch 2.3 is now in the works for Cyberpunk 2077. The patch will launch on 26 June, 2025.
This week, Cyberpunk 2077 also launched on the Nintendo Switch 2.
New Cyberpunk 2077 update coming this month
CD Projekt RED held a Cyberpunk 2077 livestream this week to celebrate the game’s Nintendo Switch 2 release. The livestream contained a surprising revelation: Patch 2.3 is officially in the works for Cyberpunk 2077. Alicja Kozera, senior community manager confirmed as such in the stream, saying:
"We are planning another patch for the game. The last one wasn't the last one. Patch 2.3 is coming on June 26."
CD Projekt RED’s associate game director Pawel Sasko then confirmed the announcement on Bluesky, saying that he was “taking care of the update personally.”
Unfortunately, we have no idea of the patch’s contents until CD Projekt RED elects to spill the beans, which likely won’t happen until we’re closer to its release. That being said, don’t expect this to be a major update. The developer has made it clear that it’s moved onto bigger projects, including The Witcher 4.
We might, however, see some sort of tie-in to the game’s upcoming sequel, given that its new Chicago-like setting was recently confirmed. Night City will also be featured, with the two locations potentially being interlinked by train.
