From Final Fantasy Tactics to a classic Mortal Kombat collection, this week’s State of Play stream gave fans tons of reveals.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s State of Play presentation for June 2025 has officially gone live, running through 40 minutes’ worth of trailers and announcements for games launching on PlayStation consoles. This week’s game showcase gave us updates on titles like Pragmata and 007: First Light, and all-new reveals, like Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles.
Here’s everything you may have missed from the June 2025 State of Play:
Lumines Arise
This new music rhythm game looks flashy and beautiful, and it’s headed for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR 2 console. The game comes from the developers of Tetris Effect, and a demo is planned for release this summer.
Pragmata (2026)
Capcom’s all-new game IP Pragmata finally makes a reappearance, after a very lengthy absence and several puzzling showcases. The game follows a child named Diana with super abilities, who is protected by a man in a suit of armour. The two traverse through a mysterious base that has something to do with a tech company named Delphi. Read more about the game here.
Romeo is a Dead Man (2026)
This action-adventure game looks absolutely bonkers. Its trailer begins with a fun family dinner before a shockingly gory death occurs, and things only escalate from there. This game comes from Grasshopper Manufacture, the maker of No More Heroes III.
Silent Hill f (25 September, 2025).
Konami’s upcoming all-new installment in the Silent Hill horror game franchise has set a release date.Silent Hill f follows a Japanese student in a Japan-set foggy town, pursued by unnatural and gruesome creatures while she confronts her own deepest traumas.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement (2026)
We’re getting an all-new Bloodstained game! This titles takes place years before Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, following Leo and the fearless Black Wolves as they prepare to storm the cursed Ethereal Castle and confront the rising darkness. Under the command of Lord Theodore, the warriors face horrific beasts and the malevolent Demon Lord Elias in a brutal battle for humanity’s survival.
Digimon Story Time Stranger (3 October, 2025)
We’re getting an all-new Digimon RPG this year! Its story spans across the human world and Digital World, where players will collect and raise a diverse array of Digimon to fight in turn-based battles.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles (30 September, 2025)
Final Fantasy Tactics is getting a remake! This “enhanced” version of the iconic Final Fantasy title adds fully-voiced dialogue, along with updated UI, graphical improvement, and numerous quality-of-life features. For fans of the classic game’s aesthetic, however, never fear–a classic version is also available. We wrote more about this reveal here.
Baby Steps (8 September, 2025)
Learn to walk again in this surreal game.
Hirogami (3 September, 2025)
Hirogami is a 3D action-platforming game inspired by origami (paper folding). Remember when we used to do that in classrooms when we should’ve been studying? Just me? Okay.
Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots (5 September, 2025)
This golfing game features different time of day settings, a Pac-Man golfer, and of course, lots of golfing.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (31 July, 2025)
This gorgeous-looking Ninja Gaiden metroidvania features lots of fast-paced combat, platforming, and frantic parkour.
Cairn (5 November, 2025)
Think Death Stranding–but exclusively for climbing. In Cairn, players will climb mountains in heart-pumping sequences.
Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection (2025)
At long last! The most complete collection of Mortal Kombat games has been announced, featuring console, arcade, and more varying editions of these classic fighting games. Mortal Kombat 1 might be dead, but the franchise lives on. Read more about the collection here.
Project Defiant Wireless Fight Stick (TBA)
PlayStation has officially announced its very own fight stick.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (28 August, 2025)
A new gameplay trailer has been released for Konami’s upcoming remake of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, which once again goes over the return of its old Ape Escape minigame. Read more on this reveal here.
Nioh 3 (2026)
An expected sequel! This sweeping action game features a supernatural twist on feudal Japan. Players will get to play as both a ninja and a samurai, and explore all-new open world environments. A demo is now available.
Thief: Legacy of Shadow VR (TBA)
Thief is officially getting a VR port for PlayStation VR 2.
Tides of Tomorrow (24 February, 2026)
The makers of Road 96 have unveiled an all-new multiplayer game, set in a post-apocalyptic world with scarce resources and open bodies of water.
Astro Bot
Five all-new challenge levels are coming to the fantastic platforming game Astro Bot, along with bots themed after Ghost of Yotei and more mysterious PlayStation characters.
Sea of Remnants (2026)
This adventure game has everything: giant crabs, ship combat, slot machine gameplay, pirate-themed aesthetics, and so much more. What exactly it is remains unknown at this point, making this a rather puzzling trailer.
Sword of the Sea (19 August, 2025)
The makers of Abzu, The Pathless, and Journey have a dreamy new adventure game in the works. Developer Giant Squid’s new game is very reminiscent of Journey, featuring multiple beautiful environments for the player to explore while rapidly surfing their way through.
007: First Light (2026)
IO Interactive’s all-new James Bond game has finally been unveiled. This title sees Bond train from the ground up as a 007 agent, conscripted into British intelligence to stop a conspiracy using fast cars, cool watches, and tiny guns–as is tradition. We wrote more about this reveal here.
Ghost of Yōtei (2 October, 2025)
This week’s State of Play gave us a new look at Ghost of Yōtei, the upcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. We’ll get a new look at the game in a gameplay deep dive this July.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls (2026)
A Marvel fighting game is coming from Guilty Gear Strive developer Arc System Works! Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Ms. Marvel, Captain America (Steve Rogers), Iron Man, Star Lord, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), Doctor Doom, and Storm were spotted in this trailer, highlighting the game’s chaotic 4v4 tag team battles.
