Monster Hunter Wilds adds two new event quests for easy decoration farming

Still busy with decoration farming in Monster Hunter Wilds? The game's two new event quests should help you get the skills you need.

Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest critically-acclaimed mainline entry in Capcom's classic Monster Hunter series, has just added two new event quests for Hunters looking to farm decorations – or Glowing Orbs, as they are called in-game – this week.

Monster Hunter Wilds introduced changes to the series' decoration system – which lets players equip decorations that add useful skills to their gear – by having separate decoration slots for weapons and armor, namely Glowing Orb - Sword (weapon decorations) and Glowing Orb - Armor (armor decorations). The event quests ‘Ballet in the Rain’ will award Hunters with Glowing Orb - Sword for their weapons while ‘Sand-Scarred Soul’ gives them Glowing Orb - Armor once the designated monsters for each quest have been hunted down.

The Ballet in the Rain quest will pit Hunters against a Tempered Lala Barina in the Scarlet Forest. Hunters must have a minimum Hunter Rank of 21 to be able to access this quest through Alma. The event quest will be available for Hunters from 18 to 25 March.

Meanwhile, in Sand-Scarred Soul, Hunters will face a Doshaguma in the Windward Plains. Players must have at least Hunter Rank 9 to be able to take on this quest.

Aside from the two new Glowing Orb-focused events, Wilds also added the ‘Like a Fire Hidden by Sand’ quest for Hunters to craft the Expedition Headgear α head armour for their set. The quest will reward hunters with an Expedition Headgear Ticket that can be used to create an earpiece shaped after the emblem of the Forbidden Lands Expedition, perfect as layered armor for Hunters that prefer having their characters' faces not hidden behind helmets.

Expedition Headgear α can be placed on the left ear or the right ear. It will give Hunters the Coalescence Lvl. 1 and Blight Resistance Lvl. 1 skills. Both skills are helpful in fighting against monsters that have debuff-heavy attacks or utilising the Gore Magala armor set bonus. However, be careful not to upgrade Blight Resistance to level three as it will prevent Coalescence from activating.

The Like a Fire Hidden by Sand quest will require Hunters to face a Rathian in the Windward Plains. However, unlike the previous two quests, it will be available for two weeks, from 18 March to 1 April.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
