The ever unpredictable Smash Rule is back for the PUBG Mobile Super League SEA 2025 Spring.
The upcoming PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) SEA 2025 Spring will be bringing back the Smash Rule format on the second week of its Super Weekend.
The Smash Rule dictates that, at the end of the second week's Saturday matches, a Match Point will be decided equal to +10 points on the current number one team's total points. The first team to reach Match Point and achieve a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD) on Sunday will then end the competition by grabbing the maximum league points for the week.
However, there is an eight-match limit for teams to get the WWCD. If no Match Point-eligible teams grabs a WWCD after eighth match, the team with the highest points total will win the Super Weekend instead.
To accomodate the Super Weekends, the three days of Group Stage action before the Super Weekend will see the 24 teams divided into three groups, with each team from the group battling other groups. They will play eighteen matches, with each group playing 12 matches (six against each group). Only 16 teams each week will proceed to Super Weekend, after which groups are reshuffled again.
Only 16 teams with the highest league points will then be qualified for the grand finals of PUBG Mobile Super League SEA 2025 Spring.
The PMSL SEA 2025 Spring starts on 26 February and will run until 16 March. 24 teams froim all across Southeast Asia will fight for the right to call themselves the champions and claim a ticket to the PUBG Mobile Global Open 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The region the champion hails from will also get an extra slot for their next local PUBG Mobile National Championship team to qualify for the next season’s tournament. This right was previously awarded to Thailand, the region of Vampire Esports, Champion of PMSL SEA 2024 Fall. With the extra slot, TEM Entertainment qualified for this season’s PMSL SEA 2025 Spring event.
However, if the new team from PMNC is the champion of PMSL SEA, they will automatically qualify for the next season of PMSL SEA.
