Monster Hunter Outlanders will feature a unique open-world map and a multiplayer option for Mobile players to enjoy.

Capcom has teamed up with TiMi Studio Group of Tencent Games to create a new Monster Hunter mobile game. Titled Monster Hunter Outlanders, the game is touted to be an open-world survival game within the Monster Hunter universe.

Monster Hunter Outlanders is an ambitious venture. The mobile game is set to feature a vast open-world map with unique regions, natural environments, ecosystems, monsters, crafting for gear and tools, as well as the option to either hunt solo or with friends – features that are more prominent in Monster Hunter games on PC or Console.

The game’s trailer showcases its open world exploration, although it lacks the actual monster-hunting footage we’re sure every Monster Hunter player is expecting.

Monster Hunter Outlanders isn’t the first mobile game to be developed for the Monster Hunter franchise, but compared to the recently released Monster Hunter Now, which is more akin to Pokemon Go, this game seems to focus more on bringing the full AAA gaming experience to your fingertips. Monster Hunter Outlanders is shaping up to be a promising experience for interested players who want to duel with unique monsters on the go, but can’t lug a PC or Playstation console along with them.

So far we’ve spotted Rathalos, Rathian, Anjanath, Great Jagras, Tobi-Kadachi, Jyuratodus, and a cute monkey-like creature that may be this game’s version of a Palico companion, in the trailer. Monster Hunter Outlanders is yet to get a release date, but you can sign up on its official website to stay in the loop for news, updates, and even test announcements.

While a new Monster Hunter mobile game is certainly exciting, we’re sure every Monster Hunter fan already has their eyes set on Monster Hunter Wilds, which will be released on February 28, 2025.
