John Zhang, Level Infinite's Director of Honor of Kings Southeast Asia Publishing and Esports, announced Garuda Khageswara as the first localised hero from Indonesia being added to Honor of Kings. This will be part of a new initiative by the game to feature a co-creation event with the local Indonesian community. Garuda Khageswara will arrive in 2025, with further details announced along the way. Â
The developers also announced that Honor of Kings will be featured in an episode of Secret Level, an adult-animated anthology series from Amazon Prime Video. The episode will focus on the character Yixing, the self-proclaimed best Weiqi player in Chang’an.Â
Yixing will also become playable as a Honor of Kings hero alongside the premiere of the game's Secret Level episode in December. The hero will be a mage that boasts both crowd control and burst damage abilities. With a proper setup, Yixing can dish dangerous amounts of damage quickly.
A new league, Midseason, and Honor of Kings Championship 2025
For the Honor of Kings esports scene, James Yang, Level Infinite's Senior Director of Global Esports Center, announced a new league will be introduced in 2025 dubbed the Honor of Kings Major East and West. The league will feature a brand new system, expanding the competitive opportunities for teams and players worldwide.
The Honor of Kings Invitational will also return for Season 3, kicking off in Spring 2025. The new seaason will feature top teams worldwide, just like its predecessor. The Midseason event will also make a return with the best players worldwide competing in Riyadh in Summer 2025.Â
The Honor of Kings Championship has also been confirmed to return next year as well. However, more details regarding the dates and location will be announced at a later date. The final surprise for Honor of Kings' esports plans for 2025 was the introduction of a global ban system, which will prevent teams from picking the same hero in one series.
These are all the announced plans for Honor of Kings in 2025 so far. It's looking like it will be another exciting year for Honor of Kings, starting with the debut of Yixing in December.
