Capcom vs. SNK, Power Stone, and more classic fighting games return in this new collection.
If you’re a fan of classic Capcom fighting games, we have good news. During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, the publisher announced Capcom Fighting Collection 2, a bundle of eight fighting games including Capcom vs. SNK, Project Justice, Plasma Sword and even Power Stone.
Here’s a trailer:
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 features eight classic fighting games
The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 follows up on the company's 2022 retro fighting game collection. This sequel features eight nostalgic titles, including crossover games with characters from Capcom and Neo Geo creator SNK. Here’s a full list of all the games included in this new collection:
- Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight
- Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium
- Project Justice
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
- Plasma Sword
- Power Stone
- Power Stone 2
All of these games will support online and co-op multiplayer, and will come with several new features to boot. Considering that this is the first time a few of these titles have become widely playable, players can now head into a Training Mode to practise special moves and combos with specific characters. However, this mode is only available for the 2D games included in this collection.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 also has fun little bonus features to feed the nostalgia of fans who grew up with these games, like adjustable screen filters and display sizes. Players will also be able to earn Fighter Awards by playing multiple titles in the collection. Button layouts can be customised to the point that special moves can be performed with the press of a single button - though this feature won’t be available in Ranked Matches.
The collection also includes an art gallery featuring character illustrations and key art from all eight titles. During this week's Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Capcom also announced that the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is launching on September 12 digitally, with a physical release on September 22.
Capcom Fighting Collection will launch sometime in 2025.
