The success of the Vegas Open solidified plans for future open-bracket LAN events, and this year, Riot will be taking the TFT Open to Macao, a dazzling city seated within one of the largest TFT player bases. Five hundred and twelve competitors will gather from December 13 - 15 for the biggest TFT tournament of the year. Players will compete for a piece of the $300K prize pool, the Tactician’s Belt, and the Macao Open title.
Last year, Riot Games hosted the first-ever global LAN event for TFT - the Vegas Open - for 500+ competitors and 1000+ spectators at the MGM Grand Convention Center in Las Vegas. Check out the recap of the event here:
The TFT Macao Open will have two ways of playing TFT in the event: One from the Main Event and the other from the Side Event. The Main Event will have Five hundred and twelve competitors on Day 1, and only one player will win it all on Day 3. Players will compete on Set 13, which will launch before the event begins.
Players will initially be seeded based on their Set 12, Magic n’ Mayhem ranking. After Round 1, players will be seeded via snake draft based on the points they earn throughout the tournament. Throughout the tournament, points will be awarded to each player based on the results of each game. First place wins eight points, second place wins seven and so on.
The format has been updated to include an additional round on days 1 & 2. On day 2, the top 4 will advance at the end of each round - updated from the top 2 at the last event. The top 128 players are guaranteed to walk away with a share of the $300K USD prize
pool, and the event's best player will take home $100K. Take a look below for the total prize pool breakdown:

Players who are not actively participating in the Main Event can enter a variety of Side Events. This time, free game stations will be converted into fun modes, including Normals, 4v4, Mastermind (1v1 mode with each player controlling 4 PCs simultaneously), and exclusive game modes.
Competitor bundles and spectator passes will be sold in dedicated windows based on Set 12 ladder rankings. Additionally, there will be a sales window for Tactician’s Crown participants who competed in Set 9 (Runeterra Reforged), Set 10 (Remix Rumble), and Set 11 (Inkborn Fables)!
