Fans of Super Mario RPGs are having a very good year. Between the Super Mario RPG remake last year, the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake this year, and now the announcement of a new Mario & Luigi game, we haven’t gotten so many Mario RPGs launching in such quick succession in a very long time.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership follows up on 2015’s Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, bringing the two siblings together for another adventure involving the franchise’s dynamic take on turn-based combat. Both Mario and Luigi will have to use Bros. Moves to get past obstacles and Bros. Attacks to defeat enemies as they navigate the world of Concordia.
This time, they’ll sail through the land on Shipshape Island, a half-ship, half-island entity. Using the ship, the duo will explore various islands and biomes ranging from rainforests to cities and encounter familiar faces like Princess Peach and Bowser.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership launches on the Nintendo Switch on November 7, 2024. This week's Nintendo Direct also gave us reveals for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Metroid Prime 4.
