World of Warcraft’s next expansion The War Within launches this August.
Blizzard Entertainment’s highly-anticipated World of Warcraft: The War Within expansion has set an official release date. The expansion will launch on August 26, 2024 on PC, kicking off the MMORPG’s three-part Worldsoul Saga.

Release date for World of Warcraft: The War Within unveiled
Blizzard Entertainment has announced a release date for its highly-anticipated The War Within expansion for World of Warcraft, and it’s not too far away either. The expansion launches on August 26, 2024, on PC, although some players are already checking out its content in beta tests. This is the first expansion to launch under returning executive creative director Chris Metzen.
The War Within will take players into the heart of Azeroth in subterranean regions, where they'll engage with new cultures. The gigantic sword the Titan Sargeras left in Azeroth is also going to be dealt with at long last. Gameplay-wise, the expansion will introduce a new cross-character progression system called Warbands and bite-sized dungeon runs called Delves. New locations and characters are also expected.
The War Within will set up the next few years of World of Warcraft expansions. Next year, we’ll get an expansion called Midnight, which brings players back to The Old World, where the forces of the Void have invaded Azeroth to plunge the realm in fear. The Last Titan will be the culmination of this three-part Worldsoul Saga, taking players to Northrend. There, they will witness Titans return to Azeroth and uncover a vast conspiracy that stretches across the history of the world, challenging what they know about the Titans and their true intentions.
A limited-time ‘Welcome to Azeroth’ bundle is also going live to catch players up on the latest happenings in Azeroth. The expansion includes:
- Dragonflight expansion
- Level 60 character boost
- 60 Days of game time
