The Witcher: Blood Origin will serve as a prequel to the Netflix Original series.
When it comes to The Witcher, it's safe to say that it has been one of the must-watch series on Netflix since its release in late 2019. With season two now available on Netflix and already greenlit for a third, Netflix decided to do a Marvel-like teaser with a post-credits teaser upon finishing the second season.
The teaser in question shows us the first look footage of the latest instalment into the franchise, The Witcher: Blood Origin. It also gave us a look at the cast of the series in action for the first time. This includes the likes of Sophia Brown as Éile, Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall, and Michelle Yeoh as Scían.
The Witcher: Blood Origin will be a prequel series that is set in an elven world 1,200 years before the events of The Witcher. It will showcase the untold history of the Continent like exploring the creation of the prototype Witcher, as well as the events that led to the "Conjunction of the Spheres" when the worlds of men, monsters, and elves merged into one. It will also explore the ancient elven civilisation before its demise.
The Witcher: Blood Origin is slated to release sometime in 2022.
