BetBoom will no longer take the high road in the Bali Major as they have been dropped to the lower brackets for breaking rules in the match against Tundra.
BetBoom's 2:0 sweep against Tundra in the upper brackets yesterday has been overturned. The EEU team has been given a default loss for the series and dropped down to the lower brackets. Tundra will advance through the upper brackets and will compete against Team Liquid in the semi-finals.
During a pause in their match against Tundra, Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko appears to have turned on Russian Streamer "Nix" broadcast of the game.
Watching broadcasts are typically against the rules. According to DPC rules:
All players are prohibited from watching any broadcasts while they are currently competing in an official match. This includes broadcasts of both their own match(s) and the broadcasts of other matches taking place at the same time as they are taking part in the competition
5.2.2
Information Abuse Communication during the match with people not involved in the match is strictly forbidden, the same is true for using information about your game from other external sources (e.g., streams).
In addition for on-site events:
Internet access on tournament computers is limited for all participants. Once the draft begins, all terminals must have only Steam, Dota 2 and TeamSpeak running.
It is unclear why there was no admin in the room with the teams during the matches but the incident was caught and a penalization was applied.
BetBoom lost the points that secured them a TI invite. They will need to win the series and advance through the lower brackets to keep their hopes alive.
