Valve has revealed that they plan to quickly patch the R8 revolver stats after criticism from the CS:GO community.
Tuesday's Winter Update included a number of major changes to the game, but one of the more surprising was the addition of the R8 revolver, a gun so overpowered that the CS:GO subreddit has been inundated with a storm of threads for days pointing out the imbalance in its stats, as well as calls for the gun to removed or nerfed.
Valve has caved into these requests now, revealing in a blog post that they plan to roll out a patch to nerf the R8 as soon as possible. The nerf will adjust many aspects of the gun, but mostly notably will lower its damge output as well as increase the time required to charge before firing. The developers also hinted at possibly reverting the changes made to rifle and pistol accuracy, but have not made final decision on the matter.
