Adwait "Adwait" A of Fenix Fire has been caught in a ghosting scandal after the North American CS:GO player left the game and rejoined as a spectator in the quarter finals of a recent RGN tournament.
Fenix Fire, a relatively new CS:GO team has achieved very respectable results in the North American scene, winning CEVO Main Season 7 as well as a 2nd place finish in the RGN Intercontinental tournament. However, these accomplishments have not come without drama, as just yesterday Adwait "Adwait" A of Fenix Fire has been accused of "ghosting" in one of their recent matches against Area51 Gaming.
Much of the evidence regarding the situation comes from the video below, which shows a PoV stream from Fenix Fire player Samuel "SileNt3m" Portillo telling Adwait to "stop ghosting".
Here, it is clear that Adwait disconnects and joins spectator, and even tells his team where the enemy terrorists are going. Despite this, Fenix Fire still managed to lose the round and eventually the map after Area51 won the game in overtime 22-18.
Adwait himself has received a ban by CEVO for "Unsportsmanlike Conduct", a ban that only lasted 2 hours and has already expired. However, Fenix Fire as an eSports organization has come out and decided to release Adwait from the roster, Tweeting the following:
Due to reasons regarding in-game performances and recent actions, we are releasing Adwait from Fenix.CSGO. Filling in will be @emong45.
