StarLadder is back with their twelfth season featuring an increased prize pool and a changed tournament format.
StarLadder has announced the twelfth season of StarSeries, featuring a prize pool boost of up to $50,000 and a whole new format. The prize pool is a $15,000 increase from the last season, where $12,000 will be allocated for the travel support of the teams who qualify for the LAN finals.
This season will feature a total of sixteen teams placed into the two groups, eight in each. After the round robin is played and the standings are determined, the top two teams of each group will get their ticket for the LAN finals. A third and fourth placed teams of both groups will meet in a playoff bracket where they battle out for a 5th slot at the LAN finals. The last chance qualifier will be hosted for the teams who didn't make it through the play-off bracket and 5-7 placed teams of both groups. The higher placed teams will have a better seed. Only the winner will advance to the LAN finals.
The twelfth season has an updated map pool, where the tournament organizers have decided to add de_cobblestone and to remove de_season from the pool. The LAN finals, which are planned to be held on February 20-22 will have the same venue as usual, CyberArena in Kiev, Ukraine.

Season 13: April 17-19
Season 14: July 3-5
Season 15: September 18-20
Season 16: December 11-13.
