The tournament featuring some of the best players of each race has come to end. Eight players were chosen to compete but in the end it all come down to Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen and Zhuo "TeD" Zeng to battle for "Champions" title.
Although the series turned out to be rather frustrating for the spectators with the stream lagging and also disconnecting, the games were still seen. Grubby using Farseer in the first game was a one many saw and it was interesting to see that hero instead of Blademaster against Undead for once.
Afterwards TeD started experiencing problem. Host had to be changed and before the last game there was close to 45 minutes wait before the game started. Despite that the match was still streamed live with no problem.
A series of good micromanagement from both players displayed in the last game but in the end Grubby's two level 5 heroes influenced the last fight a lot as he was able to keep a lot of units alive as well as dealing a good amount of damage with his Blademaster (300 critical damage if not mistaken).
Grubby takes the first place with a $4,800 reward and TeD second with $2,400. The third place decider saw a very close match between Jae Ho "Moon" Jang and Dae Hui "FoV" Cho with Moon coming out victorious in that 3-2 clash.
Thus comes the end of the GomTV World Invitational 2009. Hopefully the organization will further support Warcraft 3 with more tournaments in the future with more players invited and also fixing the stream.
VODs will be uploaded and also available to watch for premium members. Three days after the release, the VODs will be free to watch. Replays are said to be released after the events if not never.
