In a not at all surprising turn of events Jaedong and Stork won all their group stage matches and advanced into quarter-finals. As you've probably guessed none of the games were close, the two Koreans just steamrolled over their competition.
WCG officials are being a bit slow on releasing VODs, here are the two that are available:
Jaedong vs Toodming
Stork vs Fengzi
Stork vs BRAT_OK
There was hope in the air that somebody might at least put a dent into Korean domination, but no, at least not yet. Chinese players failed short, others were simply devastated by Korean skill monstrosity.
"Best foreigner of the day" award goes to ESC.Kolll, who advances into playoffs with a fantastic 5-2 result, losing only to Jaedong (duh) and Draco. The fourth lucky finalist turned out to be Sen, who edged out Brat_OK for the 2nd place in the group.
One of the semi-upsets of the day could be Draco with a mediocre result of 3-4, as he was considered by many the second strongest player in the group. Cloud on the other hand stopped just shy of a second place with 4-3, a relatively good result for Italian player.
Day One had very little surprises, if any. Koreans expectedly won every single game with ease. Kolll demonstrated an incredible performance, Draco failed short.
Tomorrow: Bisu is a favorite in Group C, but we expect an epic battle for second place between PJ and Dimaga, hey, PJ may even give Bisu a nudge, who knows.
Group D (#4) is looking up to be the real treat: no Koreans, White-Ra, IdrA, Yayba and A2.
See you tomorrow.
