Tune in tomorrow as the Overwatch Monthly Melee kicks off a day early with a Qualifier for the final two spots.
After over 10 Monthly Melees, Curse and Alienware have decided to add a Qualifier to the April edition this weekend. While previously all eight participants were invites, sometimes from EU or Asia but mostly from NA, this time around two out of the eight will be decided through a Qualifier this Friday.
Twelve teams will be playing in the Double Elimination Qualifier, starting at 3 PM EST/midnight CEST on Friday. After the first round of matches, the broadcast at https://www.twitch.tv/curse will kick off to provide you coverage throughout the rest of the afternoon/evening.
Due to some teams dropping out, several of the highest ranked participants have received first round byes. RiseNation and CLG look to be the favorites to qualify for the main event, which will be played throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Whoever ends up getting the chance for the $10,000 will have to be able to deal with top teams such as Selfless and Rogue, and even MetaAthena which received an invite as a Korean team this time around. Even NRG, with their new roster, has showed up to prove that their time out of the public eye has been worthwhile.
As you can see, there are plenty of reason to tune in for this Overwatch Monthly Melee starting this Friday, a little past 3 PM EST/midnight CEST.
