Alienware, in partnership with Curse, is back for the 13th time this month.
On the 31st of January, we announced that fans could look forward to an improved continuation of the Overwatch Monthly Melee. After 12 editions, mostly on the NA servers but also played in China and EU, the support of all fans has allowed the prize pool to double to $10,000.
Today, we can announce the finalized game dates as well as the list of invited teams. The Monthly Melee has always found the right balance between established top teams and worthy up-and-comers and this edition is no different. The following teams have proven their skill over the past months, and have received their invites:
- FaZe Clan
- Rogue (now officially repositioned to Las Vegas)
- Immortals
- Hammers Esports
- Luminosity Gaming
- compLexity
- Renegades
- RiseNation
A few questions arise right away: has FaZe gotten back to their old level of play after replacing TwoEasy? Will harbleu play for coL? Will Rogue, with all their international experience, be the clear favorites this time around?
With only two weekends left in February, it will be no surprise that the matches are scheduled for February 25th and 26th. Alienware will bring back the format everybody loves, group stage on day 1 and playoffs on day 2, but will do so on a new Twitch channel. If you want to tune in when the matches do go live, but have grown used to it being on our own GosuTV_OW channel, then be sure to follow or keep an eye out on the Curse Twitch channel the 25th and 26th of February.
