The Xtra Cup by Glory4Gamers concluded today at their own studio, where the remaining four teams played for the €5,000 prizepool.
French organization Glory4Gamers added another event to their portfolio today; one played out at their own studio in Paris.
What started with a total of 64 teams, playing in the double elimination open qualifier two weeks ago, resulted in the following four teams making it to the LAN phase of this event:
- The Chavs
- Dignitas
- Grand Danois (ex-Fragsters)
- Movistar Riders
The structure of the event was such that MRDS and Dignitas qualified through the Lower Bracket, landing in the Lower Bracket of the LAN as well, while The Chavs and Grand Danois went undefeated through the Upper Bracket defeating teams such as GamersOrigin and b0nkers.
As shown in the bracket, The Chavs had an easy run to the finals while Dignitas had to play quite a few more matches going through the Lower Bracket. This might have added to their momentum, but The Chavs showed they were the best team of the day and the event. Backed up by a 1 game advantage, and continuing it with a clean 2-0 run on Watchpoint: Gibraltar and Lijiang Tower, The Chavs can now add another title to their record, possibly making them the best unsigned roster in Europe.
In case you missed this event, French commentated VODs are available on the Twitch channel that broadcasted this event: https://www.twitch.tv/ogamingoverwatch/videos/past-broadcasts.
