The top European squad is looking to enter 2017 with a refreshed roster.
Founding REUNITED member and tank player Sergi “Winghaven” Aragones and DPS Stefan “ONIGOD” Fiskerstrand – both of whom helped the team take second place in the Atlantic Showdown in August – may have been released from the organization as of Friday, but REUNITED are already looking at replacements.
If the hints of Reunited’s Harrison “Kruise” Pond are any indication, the ESL runners-up are about to bring fresh blood in two other Europeans, currently members of the CIS-based Slav Squad: Support Ruben “Rubikon” Zurabyan and tank Normunds “Sharyk” Faterins.
If officially contracted, the Slavs will have big shoes to fill and some role changes might need to be made within REUNITED. While Sharyk looks to directly take Windhaven’s dedicated-tank spot, Rubikon’s primary support role - together with current REUNITED member Thomas “Morte” Kerbusch - would mean that either Andrei “Unfixed” Leonov or Kruise would have to occasionally accompany star player Hendrik-Williams “Vallutaja” Kinks on DPS.
Though once among the best teams in Overwatch, REUNITED’s recent record isn’t particularly glamorous. The roster has lost six of their last ten games and haven’t played a televised game since their APEX Season 1 run in October-November.
