Chile, Taiwan set to compete at the Overwatch World Cup

Teams from the Americas and APAC competed for a coveted spot in the Overwatch World Cup. they will join the invited teams in November at Blizzcon to battle it out for the title of world champion. 

America's

Peru, Costa Rica, Meixco, Colombia, Chile and Argentina all battled it out for the last Overwatch World Cup spot from the Americas. The final featured Chile facing off against Colombia. Colombia had a bumpy road, narrowly beating Costa Rica and Mexico in three game series'. Chile, on the other hand, breezed to the final, making quick work of Argentina and Peru. Once there, Chile continued their dominant run and 3-0'd Colombia to win the qualifier. 

Chile will join invited teams Canada, The United States, and Brazil in the Overwatch World Cup at Blizzcon. 

From the Americas you have

  • Chile

 

APAC 

APAC promised to be one of the more exciting regions in qualifiers. While every region has strong teams, there is no region that has such a high concentration of good players. APAC had 9 teams fighting for qualification. The winner of each group gets a free ticket to Blizzcon and an appearance bonus. 

Taiwan, Thailand and Malyasia made quick work of their groups and will be joining invitees China, South Korea and the ANZ team at the Overwatch World Cup in November. 

From APAC you have 

  • China
  • South Korea
  • ANZ (Australia and New Zealand)
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • Singapore
