MiTH.s2y ousts Orange in Cycle 2 Grand Finals

?

The second cycle of the G-League is officially in the books with Made in Thailand.Sorry Sorry taking over the championship. In a highly anticipated clash between the best team from Thailand and the standout from Malaysia, only the Thai squad left with the trophy and their chances alive to visit DreamHack once again.

The clash between MiTH.s2y and Orange eSports was eagerly awaited, both squads had posted great results during the regular season and both teams were performing at the pinnacle of their capabilities during that. In the end only one team could walk away with the prize money, the trophy and an invite to the DreamHack Winter 2013 qualifiers - something that was grabbed by Made in Thailand.Sorry Sorry in a hurry.

The match really didn't live up to the enormous expectations, that the regular season meeting of these two teams have hyped. Ultimately the fans only got to see an array of short matches, in which the Thai team around Peter_Yedsss5 firmly dominated their opposing teams. From the script it almost seemed to be a do-over of the Grand Finals we all saw in Cycle 1, when Neolution eSports.MRR jumped ahead in the first map, only to get demolished in the next three straight matches. Overall this seems to be a trend in Newerth lately, with TurS winning their Grand Final in a hattrick, Lions eSports besting sG with three map wins straight - now MiTH.s2y joins that group, as they turned the 0-1 deficit into a crushing 3-1 victory.

It all started so good for Orange eSports, who wanted to become the first SEA team to attend the prestigious DreamHack event three times, while also adding a coveted G-League cycle championship to their trophy collection. Both dreams seemed to bloom as they went hunting for MiTH.s2y players on the first map, ending the contest in just 33 minutes with a kill score of 30 to 11. None from s2y got anything going and only their carry player BagstygAsry closed out the match with an even stat line.

After that it all went south for Orange eSports, who got absolutely obliterated in the second map. A well-farmed and snowballing Dampeer, a dominating Rally on the mid lane and a good supporting cast with Tempest, Keeper of the Forest and Engineer were the ingredients for this beatdown. It took the Thai team only 15 minutes to crush the momentum of ORGE, sending them in a slump they couldn't recover from. The third match was more contested, but at one point MiTH.s2y just pulled ahead and became uncatchable - coupled with the crazy farm and damage that Bloodhunter dished out.

Out of desperation or frustration Orange eSports' captain MrGhost then decided to change the approach and go for a push lineup in the fourth game, but to no avail. While they possessed heavy push with Balphagore, Tempest and Ophelia, MiTH answered the bell with creep clearing potential left, right and center incorporating Demented Shaman, Master of Arms and Wretched Hag into their roster. Those heroes were coupled with the strong initiation of Rally and the big carry power of a bagstygAsry Sand Wraith to give the lineup a solid all-rounder foundation. Orange never really got to push hard, MiTH.s2y always had good counters and initiations into their lineup and so SW spiraled out of control rather quickly. After 21 minutes, a 14/1 Sand Wraith and the third decisive loss in a team fight, the mission of Orange eSports to rally back into the series was accepted as a failure and the Malaysian powerhouse decided to concede the match.

Therefore Made in Thailand.Sorry Sorry completed their march from D1 all the way to the top of G-League with ease and still have the chance to attend DreamHack for the second time in a row. For Orange this results are devastating, as they failed to win a playoff match for the second straight postseason appearance. Also they now are out of the DreamHack Winter 2013 sweepstake and will have to watch the massive tournament from home. After a record setting regular season, this last chapter is one of the roughest for the proud Malaysian roster.

The conclusion of the DreamHack Winter 2013 race will happen next Saturday, October 12th, when the two G-League cycle champions square off in yet another Best of Five series. The long rivalry between Turtle Master and Made in Thailand, their impressive records so far and the possibility to go to Jönköping, Sweden as the representative of the upcoming HoN nation Thailand are all hyping this game to the max. Who will go to the Elmia and fight for $30,000 USD?
