The compLexity player was triumphant at the Zagreb Gaming Arena against G2’s Rdu.
After having a great start to 2016, Jan “SuperJJ” Janssen is on his way to a repeat in the new year. CompLexity Gaming’s best performer took €4,000 after receiving an invitation to the Zagreb Gaming Arena tournament – the first competition of 2017.
SuperJJ was one of the four invited players to the Croatian event, alongside G2 trio of Radu “Rdu” Dima, Thijs “ThijsNL” Molendijk and Adrian “Lifecoach” Koy. The four were matched against the winners of the qualifier stages, which were held the previous days, and who actually were able to deliver a couple of upsets. Hungary’s “Exigo” eliminated Lifecoach in the quarter final and local underdog “Wild” did the same to the two-times HCT EU champion ThijsNL, leaving Rdu and SuperJJ the only known names still in the running.
The two eventually overcame the dark horses to meet in the grand final, ending it in four games in SuperJJ’s favor. This is the second LAN gold of SuperJJ’s career and fourth tournament victory overall after the German broke out in 2015 at SeatStory Cup IV, his total winnings now past the $50,000 mark.
