Luminosity Hearthstone expands with Zalae

The top finisher from multiple majors strengthens what’s now one of the top rosters in Hearthstone.

Since they parted ways with their star player Stan Cifka in November last year, Luminosity have been more or less off the map of competitive Hearthstone. The organization is now turning it status 180 degrees.

Earlier this month, LG picked up a power trio of Americans consisting of Keaton “Chakki” Gil, Frank “Fr0zen” Zhang and Muzahidul “Muzzy” Islam to join ESL champion Christopher “PHONETAP” Huynh, creating unarguably the most solid roster on the continent. Today, LG’s expansion sees the addition of former Archon player Paul “Zalae” Nemeth, solidifying the team’s position as one of best in the Hearthstone scene.

Albeit still searching for his first major championship, Zalae has been consistently performing in big events. This year alone, he’s finished top eight at SeatStory Cup V and Truesilver Championship II, holds a silver from ONOG Feature Tournament #2 and a top 16 at DreamHack Austin in May.

The American was also one of the marquee players in Team Archon which he joined in March last year. His departure from Amaz’s team, however, was nothing unexpected as Archon shared their plans to quit competitive Hearthstone and focus on streaming going forward – a move accompanied by the departure of SeatStory Cup champion Jon “Orange” Westberg just this June. Presently, William “Amnesiac” Barton is the only remaining competitive player wearing the Archon jersey.
