Reno highlanders have been all the rage since League of Explorers. Here, Firebat gives his take on what a Dragon Warrior would look like.
If you want to play a highlander deck but fancy a more midrange build rather than the standard control decks of Warlock, Priest or Mage, 2014 world champion James “Firebat” Kostesich might have the deck for you. Firebat’s Reno Dragon Warrior has a steady curve of battle minions with just enough utility and removal to survive till his finishers.
Speaking of finishers, there are plenty. The 7-mana slot is occupied by [card]Dr Boom[/card] and [card]Chillmaw[/card] and it only gets bigger from there. [card]Grommash Hellscream[/card], [card]Nefarian[/card] and [card]Ysera[/card] wrap up the list of big threats in this deck.
It’s important to note that this is not a pure highlander. There are two copies of [card]Fiery War Axe[/card] and [card]Twilight Guardian[/card], meaning you’ll want to actually mulligan for them to enable Reno’s effect.
