One of the rising stars of 2014 is coming back to professional Hearthstone as Vexed Gaming’s first card slinger.
Towards the end of 2014, Jan “Faramir” Engelmann was one of Hearthstone’s best up and comers. With back-to-back victories at Heroes of Cards #4 and Tavern Takeover III, alongside a respectable top 8 at DreamHack Winter, the German was set for even more good results in 2015.
Those results never came, though, and the best Faramir did was a top four at The Pinnacle 3. After consecutive months of sub-50% win rates, the German played his last televised match in June. Two months later, he also parted ways with his team Trig Esports as their Hearthstone roster also featuring Daniel “Dtwo” Ikuta and Harald “Powder” Gimre dissolved.
As of yesterday, however, Faramir is back in the action. Signed as the centerpiece of Vexed Gaming, Engelmann looks forward to “building a strong team” for the organization. According to Vexed owner Frederik Vig, the team will be looking to find more players to “complete the roster”.
