The original centerpiece of the team will look for new opportunities elsewhere.
Harald “Powder” Gimre is teamless once again not three months after he signed to be among the founding players of ManaLight, together with Juho “Ersee” Hyodynmaa, Will “Modernleper” Bindloss and Bertill “Frezzar” Fall. Coming off a strong 2015, Powder was expected to be the player carrying ManaLight’s banner into battle and he delivered in October, finishing second in GIGACON Prime 2015. This was Powder’s sixth tournament grand final appearance, other notable ones including Assembly Summer and Kinguin for Charity Christmas 2014.
By leaving ManaLight, Powder has now gone through four different teams in the span of a year. The Swede started his career in DKMR, later acquired by IHEARTHU, but left in January together with teammates Jan “Faramir” Engelmann and Daniel “Dtwo” Ikuta following salary disputes. The trio was signed two months later by Trig Esports but their time there was also shortlived and reports of Trig’s financial difficulties caused the exodus of the Hearthstone players.
“With [Powder’s] departure we are entering a period in which we will look to revamp the team with up and coming talent as well as giving our existing players, who have already enjoyed success with the team, the chance to become the figureheads of our Hearthstone team going forward,” writes team manager Louis Corps.
