After the success of the Spring Tales, PGL will be hosting a winter edition of their Hearthstone tour, bringing players and talent at the end of October 29.
Although being involved in Hearthstone esports for some time now, organizing the previous DreamHack Bucharest tournaments, PGL’s first official branded tournament was only this year. The Tavern Tales Spring held in April in Bucharest offered a $10,000 prize pool and 115 HWC points, the lion’s share of which went to Stanislav Cifka.
In two months’ time, PGL will make a return to Hearthstone, hosting a much larger tournament prize pool-wise at DreamHack Cluj-Napoca between October 29th and November 1st. The organizers are putting up a $25,000 purse, half of which will go to the tournament winner.
The event itself will cater to both pro and amateur players, who will gain access to the tournament by purchasing a Player Ticket. In the last edition of the Tavern Tales, sixteen of the total 128 players were seeded directly into the 16-man playoffs, while the rest had to fight through a succession of group stages before making it through. Details on the Winter Tales format have yet to be revealed.
Once again, Sebastian “Forsen” Fors and Marcin “Gnimsh” Filipowicz will provide the commentary.
