Split in two divisions, Amateur and Professional, the inaugural Nvidia Hearthstone tournament aims to deliver steady stream of content over the next two months.
Long-running tournaments might be the new hip thing in competitive Hearthstone. Earlier this month, Kinguin's Pro League arrived on streams with plans for two and a half months of competition. Around the same time, Nvidia announced their own plans for a similar type of tournament.
The Nvidia Pro/Am league will run from March 26th until the end of May and will be split in two divisions, Amateur and Professional. The Amateur division will be completely open and divided into five regional conferences - Asia, the Americas, Europe, South Korea and Russia - and will feature eight weeks of swiss play to determine the 16 best amateurs. Those will be given seeds to main event's playoffs.
A 16-man round-robin Professional Division will be running simultaneously. All of the invited professionals will be advanced into the main event bracket and will essentially battling for a better seeding. The division consists of the usual suspects, the players who've been frequenting Hearthstone tournaments in the last year.
