Week one of the Gentlemen Cup is over with all teams having played a single match. Neither PkD nor vVv managed to beat eSuba's 4-0 record, however, and the Czechs are leading the standings convincingly.
In the first match last night, Planetkey Dynamics were on their way to a clean sweep. GosuCup #0 champion Via and IEM Katowice 4th place finisher Lothar both crushed it 2-0 and left eEriness in dire straits.
Thanks to Eliah and TanakhT, however, the Czechs were able to spring back, beating Vortex and Zadkiel to tie the series, pushing it to an ace match. Via and Eliah were chosen to play the all-Czech face-off which ended up with Via adding two more victories to his account, topping the player rankings with 4-0.
In the late hours of the night, vVv Gaming took on qualifier winners Innovation, eventually clinching a 3-1 win thanks to Ostkaka, Wampie and Kaldi. Danish player Numberguy was the only one who was successful for Innovation, beating vVv captain Spo in the third match.
A 3-1 victory puts vVv Gaming just below eSuba in the rankings after the first week.
Class-wise, Hunter and Warrior were the big winners this past week. With all matches thus far played before the UtH nerf, it is no surprise to see Hunter being extremely popular, sitting just north of 50%. Warrior and Druid are behind him, followed by Rogue, Shaman and Warlock. As usual, no love for Priests, Paladins or Mages.
The win rate graphs, however, tells a slightly different story. Warrior is an absolute king when it comes to winning non-mirror matches (and there's just been one Warrior mirror), beating the 70% mark. The class has even been winning match-ups considered to be unfavorable like Hunter or Shaman.
Thrall is second with 56% mostly due to his low pick-rate and the wins delivered by Ek0p and Eliah. Hunters and Rogues are tied at 50%, followed by Druid at 36% and Warlock at the surprisingly-low 17%.
