Announced only very recently as a new Major in the Dota Pro Circuit, DAC 2018 offers six direct invites to the $1,000,000 main event.
After the defending Champions, Invictus Gaming, were announced to compete in the event along with Newbee and Team Liquid, Perfect World handed the fourth direct invite to Vici Gaming, the runners-up in the first DAC event from 2015, and runners-up at the PW Masters Minor from the end of November 2017.
There are two more direct invites to be announced, and then Perfect World will proceed with the open and closed qualifiers for the six big regions: Europe, CIS, Southeast Asia, China, SA and NA. A total of 10 teams will claim a spot at the third installment of the Dota 2 Asia Championships. However, details on the format and dates for the qualifiers are still waiting to be revealed.
The DAC 2018 main event will unfold at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China from March 30 to the 7th of April. Being a Major, and besides the $1,000,000 prize pool, DAC 2018 offers a total of 1500 TI8 qualifying points as well.
