Both European dynamos - Team Liquid and Team Secret have been invited to participate in ESL One Katowice Major.
It comes as little surprise to see these two teams join ESL defending champions, Virtus.pro, to the star studded lineup for the first Major for Poland.
Team Secret sit on top of the Dota Pro Circuit TI8 qualifying points ranking with 3690 points - a comfortable lead over Team Liquid and Virtus.pro who are tied for second place with 2700 points each. Team Secret recently seized the championship title for the DreamLeague Season 8 Major which granted them a whopping 750 points per player.
Team Liquid has been making the rounds collecting Dota Pro Circuit Minor championship titles, taking first in StarLadder Invitational Season 3 Minor and Dota Pit League Minor but have yet to seize a championship title for a Major - taking third at ESL One Hamburg Major and second place under Team Secret at DreamLeague Season 8 Major.
ESL One Katowice Major will be held between February 20-25 at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland featuring a $1,000,000 prize pool and 1,500 qualifier points. Sixteen teams total will compete, ten being directly invited and six qualifying from the various regions.
