PGL announced the first details of the Bucharest Major.
The fifth Dota Pro Circuit Major will be held by PGL March 4 -11 in Bucharest, Romania. Sixteen teams will be taking part in the $1,000,000 event, ten of them coming to the Major via direct invites, while six more will join via regional qualifiers.
First of the direct invitees confirmed to play in the PGL Bucharest Major are Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, Newbee, Natus Vincere and Mineski. Five more teams will be announced by PGL in the following weeks. Until then, dates for open and regional qualifiers are already set in stone. European, CIS, Southeast Asia, North America and South America open qualifiers will take place January 8-9, followed from 10th to 14th of the same month by closed qualifiers. The Chinese open and closed qualifiers will run January 2-7.
PGL Bucharest Major will kick off at the PGL offices with a four day group stage, March 4-7, while the playoffs will be played between March 9-11 with live audience at the Polyvalent Hall from Bucharest, Romania. Dota 2 fans around the world who plan for a trip to Bucharest this spring should also know that they will be able to sign up for teams and players autograph sessions.
