Na’Vi end their DreamLeague Season 8 Major run in the fourth place

Dota 2 fans were in for a real treat with the last matchup of day two at the DreamLeague Season 8 Major.

Two of the most iconic players from the competitive scene, Danil "Dendi" Ishutin and Clinton "Fear" Loomis clashed in an elimination Na’Vi vs Evil Geniuses series.

Game One

The first game of the series was a display of total domination from EG who won all their lanes and had Dendi’s Viper under control to ensure a smooth transition to the mid-game stage. At the same time, Na’Vi key hero for team fights, Brewmaster was also bullied in his lane by a hyper-aggressive Bane from Fear. Na’Vi’s only hope was in Vladislav "Crystallize" Krystanek’s Phantom Lancer but the “Old Man” had an exquisite performance and saved his team in key moments preventing Na’Vi to make a comeback.

It took EG a bit over 30 minutes to secure the mega creeps and the game one victory with a 20k gold advantage.

Game Two

After Fear delivered the big plays in game one, it was Dendi’s turn to shine in game two. His Zeus, assisted in the mid lane by Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosyan on Undying, gave EG’s Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan the worst time he probably had in an official game. Undying being one of the strongest counters to Timbersaw, and Dendi and Rodjer executing the combo perfectly, had Sumail sitting on zero last hits opposed to 15 of Dendi in the first minutes of the laning stage.

Na’Vi had a 5k gold lead close to the 15 minute mark and had already taken down all tier one towers and Roshan kill, however, a little bit too confident, they made a few poor decisions, wasted two smokes for nothing and were quickly punished by EG. Despite not having taken a  single tier one tower, EG were able to chase and take down Na’Vi’s Terrorblade up to the tier four towers and from there on, playing perfectly around Na’Vi expended ultimates, the boys in blue made a crushing comeback to stay alive in the DreamLeague Major.

With their victory over Na’Vi from day two, EG are now one step away from the Grand Finals. Tomorrow, 3rd of December at 10:30 CET EG will play vs Team Liquid in the lower bracket finals with the winner advancing to the grand finals which are scheduled for 15:30 CET.
