Long Live Alliance! The new roster is unveiled

Alliance are finally ready to present their new line-up put carefully together by Jonathan 'Loda' Berg after a long time spent scouting and deciding on who can take the Swedish legacy further.

Co-owner of Alliance as well, the TI3 Champion Loda preferred to take his time to build the new roster instead of rushing a five man line-up just for the Dota Pro Circuit first shuffle lock. With the main goal of finding a “new group of players that could represent Alliance and over time can grow to something more than just the sum of its parts”, Loda has decided on young players but already with a decent competitive background from either Dota or HoN.

I have taken my time building this team, reminding myself what it is all about. Many of you were hoping to see one or two stars on the roster, it did not end that way. We are not a team that picks up established players, we create them. Barring that, some of these boys have been on LAN tournaments since they were 13 years old and already have more than one achievement under the belt. - extract from Loda's official statement

Those who followed Loda’s Team Sweden past week at WESG European and CIS qualifiers will recognize two of his teammates from the event as two of the new Alliance members. Michael  'miCKe' Nguyen and Aydin 'iNsania' Sarkohi who were with Loda at WESG have been actually playing together for a long time now, both being part of the same team back in their HoN career days.

However, due to a hand injury, Michael will undergo a surgery during this winter and, according to their press release, Alliance will start to compete gradually to accommodate the young mid laner. Loda mentions in the press release that Michael was signed by Alliance for two years as they have faith in a fast recovery for the youngster.

There was some uncertainty regarding the formation of the squad, and I want to be open about the fact that our mid player Michael will be away due to medical reasons for the rest of the year and he will rejoin with the rest of the squad in January. Signing him for 2 years is a clear show of faith in his swift recovery, but also in his potential and value as a young esport player.  - extract from Loda's official statement

Although he is preparing to retire for good, Loda will stay around for a while and play with the new team, taking, of course, the carry role while micKe will be Alliance’s new mid laner and Insania will assume the position four support. Next to iNsania, in the support lines, will be the Norwegian player Tommy 'Taiga' Le, formerly known under the ST_ST nick name. Taiga made his competitive debut just recently in the post TI7 shuffle joining his first team ever, SFTe-sports.

Samuel ' Boxi' Svahn is also at the beginning of his Dota 2 career, joining the pro scene in January 2017. He is also coming from a HoN competitive career where, along with iNsania and micKe, is listed in the top 10 highest earnings.
