Already the home of memorable CS:GO majors, Poland will welcome the Dota 2 fans for the first time at ESL One Katowice.
With the ESL One Hamburg Major about to kick off in two days, the event organizers are ready to announce their second major of the season and the fifth in the Dota Pro Circuit 2017-2018 schedule. ESL One Katowice will take place February 20-25 at the Spodek Arena but the live audience will be granted access only for the tournament playoffs, on the 25th and 26 of February.
ESL One made a few changes for their second Major of the season. The attending teams number has been raised from 8 to16, from which 10 will receive direct invites and 6 will claim their spots at the $1,000,000 and 1,500 DCP points LAN via regional qualifiers. Unlike the upcoming ESL One Hamburg major, the one held in Katowice will feature a best-of-five grand finals. Information on the regional qualifiers, invited teams and prize pool distribution will be revealed at a later date.
In addition to the Dota 2 Major, Katowice will also host the IEM Expo which is taking place in the adjacent International Conference Center of Spodek Arena.
Another welcomed change is the free of charge general admission to both playoffs days of ESL One Katowice major as well as to the IEK Expo. However, those who want to have a unique experience will be able to purchase Priority or Premium access to ESL One Katowice 2018. The tickets sales will go live in November.
