Team Leviathan has resurfaced in the North American scene with the new minor and major season looming on the horizon.
Reformed once again with two of the founding members Jason "Newsham" Newsham and Andrew "Jenkins" Jenkins, Leviathan will also welcome to their ranks well-known and beloved carry player Brian "BananaSlamJamma" Canavan, Scott "Slayer" Palmer and lesser known name, Samuel "Noblewingz" Anderson to assume the mid lane position.
Leviathan first formed in 2014 when they got their feet wet in the competivite scene after being picked up by Flipsid3 Tactics for a few months. Wanting to venture out on their own and become a full gaming organization to take their careers to the next level, the team moved into a house together in order to pursue a more serious path.
The next few years would be a revolving door of players, usually centered around Newsham and Jenkins, in search for their breakthrough moment. Unfortunately, their most known encounter comes at the hands of controversy when the team was picked up by Team Imagine.
They were picked up by Team Imagine on August 18th 2015, when North American League of Legends teams Imagine and Odyssey merged. Leviathan’s sponsorship was dropped when the organization's chairman, Martin Shkreli – also CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals – became the subject of global outrage. Shkreli was most known for purchasing the rights to an AIDS drug and raising the price overnight by 5500%, from $13.50 to $750.00 per pill.
The last iteration of Leviathan was formed June 2016 and disbanded following TI7 but seemed to be relatively inactive or low key through the year.
