Dota 2 news week in review: April 3

For those who might have missed the most important news from the past week in the competitive Dota2 scene, here is a short recap.

Tournament news:

The International 7: Main event dates and qualifiers schedule

In an announcement on the DOTA2 blog, Valve has released the ticket info for the upcoming International 2017, which is set to be held over six days in August, from Monday the 7th through to Saturday the 12th in the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. Along with the ticket info, Valve also released the initial schedule of the Open and Regional qualifiers. Open Qualifiers are set to be held between June 22-25 with the Regional Qualifiers following shortly after, from June 26-29. More info on the Open Qualifiers and how to register will be released at a later date.

Fnatic to play in the Manila Masters SEA qualifiers

The teams invited to the Southeast Asian Qualifier playoffs have been officially announced. Four teams are invited to the first elimination round (Ro12), four teams are invited to the second round (Ro8), and four positions are up for grabs in the SEA regional qualifiers. The First round of the Southeastern Asian qualifier playoffs (Ro12), will feature the one and only Fnatic.

The other teams in the first round will be WarriorsGaming.Youth, the Indonesian team Rex Regum Qeon, and EVOS Esports, best remembered for being one step away from the Kiev Major Southeast Asia regional Qualifiers in 2017

Summit 7 announced for June

The Summit 7 dates have been released via a gorgeous California dreamlike teaser. Set in the idyllic hills of the Los Angeles area, BTS will be hosting the player and fan favorite event once again - from June 14-18th.

Infamous recruits local stars to their roster

Infamous is building a new roster with some familiar players. The team is adding experienced players and constructing their team in hopes of succeeding in the upcoming TI championship.

Vega Squadron drops squad; keeps only Cema

Vega Squadron's lackluster season seems to have culminated in a massive revamp of their Dota 2 roster. Only the captain and support player Semion "CemaTheSlayer" Krivulya will remain on board as the cornerstone of the new lineup. CemaTheSlayer had been with the team for over two years - since November 2014. The new lineup has yet to be announced and there has been no further word on the plans and status of the departed team members.

ALTERNATE aTTax parts ways with Dota 2 squad after two years

ALTERNATE aTTax have parted ways with their Dota 2 squad. The German based organization has been the home for the Polish roster for two years. The organization has reported that they will focus on League of Legends instead - cost restrictions being a primary focal point. As for the players, there has been no further information regarding what will be in store for the current squad
