After a month of coaching, LaNm returns as active player to his team, ending any hope of EHOME receiving an invite at the Kiev Major regional qualifiers.
The long time captain of EHOME, Zhang 'LaNm' Zhicheng stepped down from his position in the 2017 Spring Shuffle, deciding to take the coach seat instead. After exactly one month since rosters became locked for the Kiev Major and after a series of poor results with their new line-up, EHOME decided to make a player swap. LaNm will step in replacing Luo 'Xi' Yinqi, the position four support player who joined the squad this January from EHOME.KEEN.
EHOME’s official statement:
EHOME's current roster:
Chen 'Cty' Tianyu
Wang 'old chicken' Zhiyong
Hu 'Sen' Sen
Zhang 'LaNm' Zhicheng
Jiang 'Jdh' Donghao
EHOME’s decisions comes after a disastrous run in the Chinese group stage qualifiers for 2017 Dota 2 Asia Championships where they finished last in group A, with one draw and four losses. EHOME has also underperformed in the StarLadder i-League StarSeries #3 Chinese qualifiers where they got eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by iG Vitality.
Looking back at the Majors history, EHOME has been directly invited to thee of them, Frankfurt, Shanghai and Boston. The only time they had to play regional qualifiers was for the Manila Major when they didn’t manage to advance past the playoffs stage. For the upcoming Kiev Major, EHOME will have to fight even harder, as they are now compelled to start from open qualifiers brackets. Kiev Major open qualifiers will commence in less than a month on March 6, with two brackets for each region.
