Virtus.Pro withdraws from DreamLeague Season 6

The Russian squad became the sixth team to pull out of the competition this season after EG, Team Secret, OG, Na'Vi and NP.

The Dream League official website announced today that the Virtus.Pro have decided not to continue to the LAN Finals of Dream League 6 due to their congested schedule. The announcement comes two weeks before the main event and was also confirmed in Virtus.Pro’s official Twitter.

Virtus.Pro will be replaced by Alliance, who accepted the invitation to fill the vacant spot on a short notice. The Russian team will not receive any of the $10,000 they earned for each of their wins in the league stage (10-4) and the money will be added to the total prize pool of the LAN Finals.

The proximity of the Boston Major to the Dream League playoff resulted in a number troubles for Dream League. Firstly, OG, Team Secret and Evil Geniuses withdrew before the tournament had started due to conflict with the schedule of the Valve event.The Imperial, Virtus.Pro and NP were brought in as replacements. After the tournament had already begun, Na'Vi left in week 3 due to roster changes following their failure to qualify for the Boston Major and were eventually replaced by Ad Finem, who kept the same score as Na'Vi (1-1). In the last week of the competition struggling NP (3-7) also quit, citing a congested schedule as the main reason for their decision, as well.

1st place: $90,000
2nd place: $45,000
3rd place: $30,000
4th place: $20,000

The final four that will play at the LAN Finals is: Escape Gaming, The Imperial, Team Liquid and Alliance.
